Updated ‘Prometheus’ Synopsis

An updated synopsis for director Ridley Scott’s upcoming sci-fi drama “Prometheus” has become available. The project has been wrapped in an air of mystery since its inception. The film was originally pitched as a prequel to Scott’s classic sci-fi/horror “Alien,” then later the director said the film was an original tale rather than a prequel.

More recently it has been described it as a companion film that it takes place within the same universe as the “Alien” franchise, but is not directly related to the original series.

The new, brief, synopsis teases a bit about the plot of the film, but does not confirm or deny its connection to the universe that Ripley and her team/s inhabited.

Take a look at the new synopsis below:

Ridley Scott, director of “Alien” and “Blade Runner,” returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.
