After the surprise success of Josh Tranks movie “Chronicle,” the director has found another project to sink his teeth in. Warner Bros has signed up the filmmaker to take on “Red Star,” a big screen version of a graphic novel created by Christian Gossett. Producing the film is Neal Moritz under his Original Film banner.
The story, set to be adapted by Jason Rothenberg, is set in an alternate USSR where futuristic technology co-mingles with magical elements. Our hero is a red fleet soldier who goes up against an ex-leader who rules with an iron fist. This debunks the rumors that Josh Trank would be taking on the “Venom” spinoff movie after all since he’ll be too preoccupied with “Red Star” and the “Chronicle” sequel.
